Popcorn anyone?

you'll have to follow us here at our new blog posting apparently I've shared too many pictures with you all. :)

For Christmas James got a camping popper for popcorn and we've been saving it for Pig Hill BUT then we got to thinking we might want to try it out first. John brought it out and asked James if he thought that would be a good idea. James said definitely!
First you have to add a little oil and heat it, then we guess on how much corn to put in...just enough to barely cover the bottom of the pan...
 shake well over the fire.....
 hand off to Daddy......and.......
pop pop pop
made two bowls full and two happy practice campers!
 Its a popcorn picnic!
Erik did not join us for the festivities as he was already in bed..... maybe next time! :) BUT I have to have some Erik pics here....you can feel free to caption them! I swear nothing ended up floating in the tub that wasn't supposed to be there! ;)

Its been a while but lifes been crazy! HOWEVER since I've been getting razzed a bit by a fellow blogger ....KORI! I figured I'd take a few minutes and upload some new pictures and thoughts mostly pictures not many thoughts ;) !

This is what hopped down the bunny trail from Solway to our house Easter weekend! James picked out ears for everyone at Target.
 We went bowling
 we went to the museum

The following weekend we headed to Grandma Debbie's! It had been too long between visits but we made it.
We spent most of Saturday outside playing basketball and having a picnic
Grandma had lots of treats and treasures for the boys. Erik LOVED the cupcake....and the cupcake loved him back.
Erik and Uncle Joe lining up to crash into James' rig.
ready....set.....go!

Uncle Jay is always good for a hug!

Headed to Bomba and Boppas for a weekend and Erik got to check for eggs!
He wasn't quite sure what to do so big brother helped him out.
 Pretty darn proud of himself!
Stealing a ride on James' bike!
Showing off the picnic they helped with for Mothers day!
Mothers day with my two sweeties and a homemade pizza by Daddy eaten on our sweet picnic table!
 LOL
this one cracks me up the most. Whenever Erik hears a big truck outside he HAS to go check it out. So garbage day is a big occasion at our house. James helped Erik out this morning since we were upstairs and there is no couch to climb on up here.

Sledding TOO!!

Going in search of a sledding hill!
We didn't have to go too far.
James is a fan of the belly flop n slide

Erik is just a fan of sledding, he LOVED it even when he crashed and ended up with a face full of snow and lost his nuk he was a trooper!
We said Erik do you want to go again and he does his full body nod. :)
I even got a quick family pic!
a snowflake must have been on the lense I look frostbit LOL!

FINALLY SNOW!!

It finally snowed enough here in Hermantown for us to enjoy it! James asked if he could go outside-still a new concept to him that he can go out whenever he wants to. Anyway Erik was napping upstairs so I decided to join him. We made this snowman.
Then we made a wall and I asked James to sit behind it for a picture.
While he was checking it out I lobbed a snowball at him...
He popped up with a handful
Took aim...
and FIRED!

It was a direct hit!

checking it out.

As most, if not all, of you know we have moved to Hermantown, MN. It was a whirlwind as always with a promotion for Menards finding out on the 8th of Jan. and John starting there on the 25th and then moving there on Feb 1st. John is now a 1st AGM which means our next move will be for his own store. :) thinking of "next move" makes me a little sick HOWEVER we are all very excited to be here. We found a very nice townhome apartment 3 bed 2.5 bath....James says it is better than the Fargo apartment because it has an upstairs AND a downstairs. LOL I say its better because he can run outside and play whenever he wants to and even has a little playground.

Today we headed out to do some sightseeing after a week and a half of unpacking followed by a week of business stuff; bank accounts, car dealerships, MN licenses - we both had to take the written test to get them too! Of course being the teases that we are we were both sweating it thinking if we failed the other of us would NEVER let us live it down. Thankfully neither of us will have to endure that as we both passed. Did you know you only have to give a bicyclist 3 feet of space? That if not posted the speed limit in a residential area is 30 mph? If you are behind a snowplow you are NOT supposed to just drive really fast through the snowcloud? Well you do now.
Anyway back to our tourism...
We decided to check out the childrens museum which is a work in progress but still had some fun and cool things for the boys. They both enjoyed it! This is a  screen that has butterflies and if you stand there the butterflies will land on you! This was my favorite thing there.
This was Eriks favorite air blowing up a pipe creates a ball that floats in mid air....he also thought it was super cool to run around with the balls.
Pretty sure this was James' favorite these piping sections are on magnets so you can move them around and create your own maze for the balls to drop through.

 Erik also enjoyed the "garden"

After about an hour or so at the museum we decided to drive out to the lake shore. So weird to see wide open water this time of year. There were even people fishing off the shore.
Pretty huh?

Just waited for 30 minutes for pics to load and not ONE of them did. So follow us to facebook Where you can see what we do in a January without snow! :)
Yesterday we were so desperate for snow I made a snowman out of my mashed potatoes....green bean arms and venison gravy hair....James thought it was naughty that I was playing with my food but it got a good chuckle out of him. No pics of that.
