checking it out.

As most, if not all, of you know we have moved to Hermantown, MN. It was a whirlwind as always with a promotion for Menards finding out on the 8th of Jan. and John starting there on the 25th and then moving there on Feb 1st. John is now a 1st AGM which means our next move will be for his own store. :) thinking of "next move" makes me a little sick HOWEVER we are all very excited to be here. We found a very nice townhome apartment 3 bed 2.5 bath....James says it is better than the Fargo apartment because it has an upstairs AND a downstairs. LOL I say its better because he can run outside and play whenever he wants to and even has a little playground.

Today we headed out to do some sightseeing after a week and a half of unpacking followed by a week of business stuff; bank accounts, car dealerships, MN licenses - we both had to take the written test to get them too! Of course being the teases that we are we were both sweating it thinking if we failed the other of us would NEVER let us live it down. Thankfully neither of us will have to endure that as we both passed. Did you know you only have to give a bicyclist 3 feet of space? That if not posted the speed limit in a residential area is 30 mph? If you are behind a snowplow you are NOT supposed to just drive really fast through the snowcloud? Well you do now.

Anyway back to our tourism...

We decided to check out the childrens museum which is a work in progress but still had some fun and cool things for the boys. They both enjoyed it! This is a  screen that has butterflies and if you stand there the butterflies will land on you! This was my favorite thing there.  

 This was Eriks favorite air blowing up a pipe creates a ball that floats in mid air....he also thought it was super cool to run around with the balls.

 Pretty sure this was James' favorite these piping sections are on magnets so you can move them around and create your own maze for the balls to drop through.

 Erik also enjoyed the "garden"

After about an hour or so at the museum we decided to drive out to the lake shore. So weird to see wide open water this time of year. There were even people fishing off the shore.
