Yesterday we went to the Buffalo State Park just outside of Glyndon. They have a manmade swimming hole much needed when the temp was 92 degrees. I can't believe we've never gone to this gem of a place before. Both our boys absolutely LOVED it! The water doesn't get any deeper than James can bounce. It has a sandy shore all around it and lifeguards. We brought our sand toys and played for the afternoon.

We tried without the nuk but Erik kept trying to shove handfuls of sand into his mouth so we popped the nuk back in.

These Army worms greeted us on our arrival. They must have been out on a drill they were covering our picnic table and all over the ground as well.
Erik passed out in the last 15 minutes.
James of course hadn't wanted to leave the park but we promised we'd go back many times this summer.....and bribed him with letting him pick a treat at the grocery store. He chose these cookies frosted in 1/4 cup of frosting each. This one was shaped and decorated like a watermelon slice.
YUM!
Fast forward to today....its 63 cloudy and windy as all get out. We bundled up and headed to Ribfest with Auntie. After scoping the places out we decided to get lunch at the Cowboy BBQ stand. I got a piece of yummy cornbread and decided Erik should try it. He LOVED it thats whats dribbling out onto his chin. ;)

Played for a bit here then shared an icecream and some lemonade.
